We are assailed daily with grandious ideas and marketing. Get this better thing, no get this one it’s far superior, new and improved, lowest in whatever….the list goes on.

Furthermore, many times other aspects of our lives from our business dealings or friendships seem to be fraught with lies. Ok, maybe not outright lies but half-truth and subtle bending of rules and truth. Which all really boil down to lies.

We were not meant for this. Even from the first, when in the Garden of Eden and the serpent (who is the enemy) deceived Eve and forever broke our connection to God. Only through Christ death was this truly restored.

So what are we to do in a world laced with lies? Be the example of truth. Not to say we are to think or act as if we are above lies, we are not! But to speak humble truth. This is far harder than one might imagine. Speaking truth into others lives must be done with love and humility. Even then we may be berated for doing so. But we must stand strong and be truthful in a sea of lies.
