16 Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. (2 Corinthians 4:16-17 CSB)

It is easy to blow situations out of proportion. Light afflictions seem like life altering situations. We are beset with difficulties and we immediately go to the worse case scenario.

Yes, sometimes our afflictions are not light. They can be a heavy burden to bear. But whether momentary and light or life affecting it is absolutely incomparable with the life to come.

Also, in either case, there is someone who stands beside us in the fire and comforts us through each situation. We are not weathering the storms alone and God too will bring others to our aid. Friends to bear the burden if we will but let them.

We do not have to do it alone.
