14 But the person without the Spirit[a] does not receive what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated[b] spiritually. (1 Corinthians 2:14 CSB)

This world seems to abound with foolishness. Now, I am getting older and maybe part of that is just how I see the world. However, I think we can agree that many things we get fed smack of foolishness.

Without acceptance of Christ and the indwelling of the Spirit, scripture just seems foolish as well. The Spirit is needed to assist us in interpreting the truth that is contained within.

Thus, when we hear people arguing scriptural truths without the indwelling of the Spirit their words fall flat. In the light of our insight from the Spirit we see through these arguments and accept the truth.
