Making Room

4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. (Psalm 10:4)

It is easy to get so preoccupied with all that we have going on in life that we do not make any room for God.

Then we find that we are struggling with some situation and suddenly there is a great need and we make a great amount of space for God.

We are hoping he will work in our behalf in these times. But why is there no space for him during the good times? We feel like we need him less when things are good but nothing could be further from the truth.

When we do not practice the presence of God in all things, then why should we expect him to be there when we do need him? Luckily, we know that what we do does not make God act in one way or anther. He acts in keeping with himself and his promises, but maybe not in the timeline we always want.

When we make room for him in every moment of our lives he is close and already knows our situations. Thus, calling upon him is easier.

But we must make room.
