9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich, for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9 CSB)
The world looks at people based upon position. We tend to judge people as rich or poor based upon success or financial wealth.
However, there are many markers of whether one may be rich or poor. One may be rich in wealth but poor in spirit. Or the reverse can be true, one may be rich in spirit but live in poverty.
The one who is rich in spirit will generally be happier in life regardless of his or her fiancial state. They realize through this spiritual richness that financial fates are fleeting and only the strength of the soul can sustain.
In our scripture today we see that Jesus became poor, taking on the sins of the world, so that we may become rich in spirit.
