10 Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 CSB)
We have dealt with fear here many times. I have written about how, with Christ, we need not fear. But fear tends to seep in, does it not?
However, let’s take a look at it from another direction. What drives you?
If we are allowing fear to drive us then we are not living from the place Christ came to save us from. You see, with His sacrifice he put away fearful things. Things that should truly concern us about our spiritual state and eternal well being.
We will have troubles and tribulations in this life. That we are told.
Thus, in accepting that life will be iffy at times we can trust that God is in control. That he has our long term situation in hand no matter what happens to us hear. We can then allow love to drive us and not fear.
When we are driven by love, fear is displaced. We are driven to reach out and not pull in. To help and not hide.
What drives you?
