There is a really good song out right now by Switchfoot called “Native Tongue”. The gist of the song is that our native tongue is love. That everything we do should be driven from this part of us that we seem to have forgotten.

There is a reason for this forgetfulness.

Much of what we deal with on a daily basis comes from another source. A source that holds sway on the earth. He is not in control, but he does hold sway in many ways through deception and lies.

However, if we focus upon our native tongue we can, at least drown out his native tongue. Love trumps hate and lies. Love moves us from doing what is right for us to doing what is right. Love covers a multitude of sins.
