Not Taken in Vein

6 Working together with him, we also appeal to you, “Don’t receive the grace of God in vain.” (2 Corinthians 6:1 CSB)

We hear stories of those who have received a new lease on life. Who have been cured of a horrible disease. Regained function after an accident. Narrowly escaped a certain fate.

These people typically look upon life differently. They realize that our time here is short and we must make the most of it while we are here. Life is typically no longer about the next success but typically about family, friends and living fully.

The gift of salvation should not be taken lightly either. When we come to the saving grace of Christ it must not be in vein. Once we have heard, accepted and repented we must then live a new life. Our old ways must no longer drive us but a new way that focuses upon our new life in Christ.
