We Have Now

7 But I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me. (Micah 7:7 CSB)

Are you like me? Very impatient.

Hey, God, I need(want) this will you please give it to me now!

Listen, I need Your help, and I need it now. Do not make me wait, I am impatient and I expect you to do it on my timeframe…

That ring any bells? I can write it because I have prayed it. Maybe not so directly but definitely with the intent.

But that is not how God works. He works in His time and to His plan. We humans do not understand this and want what we want now. Our society has lead us to believe that this is how all interactions are supposed to work.

That could not be further from the truth. “Patience is a virtue” and “Good things come to those who wait” are no longer acceptable concepts.

But consider for a moment, put your phone down look away from your computer, and just breathe. Close your eyes and pray, “God give me this moment.”

Because that is what we have. This moment. We have no idea what the next moment will bring. Only God knows that. We have now.
