Adoption

15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba,[a] Father!” 16 The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, (Romans 8:15-16 CSB)

This journey we are on is one of many ups and downs. Much like taking a long trip we will see many variations in the world around us during our travels. Some beautiful places, some barren. Long arid stretches where nary a tree grows and lush valleys with flowing streams and tall trees.

A Spirit of adoption gives us the opportunity to cry out to God when the track is toughest. An ability to come before the Lord as His child, much beloved and cared for even when times are tough.

This adoption is not for a time, but forever, so that we have no reason to fall back into fear but look forward to God’s plan.
