6 If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. 7 If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:5-6 CSB)
No one enjoyed stumbling around in the dakenss. We fumble for light switches when we enter a dark room. Look to open shades to let light in. Carry flashlights or candles when the power goes out.
So if we like the light so much, why do we stumble around in the darkness in our lives? We know what we should do. We have scripture that points the way. The Spirit to provide guidance.
And yet, we find ourselves seeking the darkness.
This is our nature but this is not who we were made to be.
This is the enemy working in a fallen world, but we can choose to walk in the light, fellowship with others, and seek the blood of Christ to cleanse us.
The darkness does not have to have power over us.
