Goals

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14 CSB)

We need goals in life. Without them we tend to just move through life with no real direction. Much like when we travel, we must pick a destination and plan how to get there. Even if we let a navigation system do the brunt of the work, we must choose a destination.

We begin with the end in mind.

However, I encounter a very large volume of people who have no goals. They do not have a grand plan for life. They have not thought through much beyond today. The problem with this is that they also, more often than not, are slaves to what ever comes their way. Life blows them about like a leaf in the wind.

At a bare minimum, having a goal to strive toward God and our heavenly home will put us on His path to our destiny. We can then begin to understand our Fathers goals for our life.
