5 Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. (I Thessalonians 5:19-22)

Have you ever been around or worked around someone who would quench every good idea. Talk it down, dismiss it, find every excuse to not move forward, to find fault.

Life it too short for this type of attitude. We should test everything against conventional wisdom, and spiritual direction. Yes, even in a business place where there seems to be no place for it.

Reacting to the quenchers with contempt, typically, does little good. However, when we test them through a quiet and respectful spirit, we turn away much derision.
