14 But the person without the Spirit[a] does not receive what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated[b] spiritually. (1 Corinthians 2:14 CSB)

Have you ever run across someone to whom the scriptures make no sense? Someone who will adamantly argue that there are contradictions and it is all just stories.

Without the Spirit within, which comes when we believe, the scripture is just foolishness. Scripture has now been unlocked to us and the Spirit helps us interpret the Word.

Much like a door that will not open until it is unlocked, scripture will dumbfound someone without the Spirit.

Then all, that we are supposed to understand, is opened to us. Our eyes and hearts are open to the message.
