11 For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 CSB)
We often want a roadmap to our lives. However, when we are told that the Father has just that we hesitate. We worry that it will mean traveling to a far away place and being uncomfortable, or living under threat. Some may do this. But most of what He wants for us is both greater than we can imagine and no matter the circumstance under His provision.
It is our stuff, our desires for our lifestyle, that keep us most moored in place.
We cannot imagine what God might have in store for us if we let go, so we hold back. We forget the plans are for our well-being, not for disaster, to give us a future and a hope.
