10 When Jesus stood up, he said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, Lord,”[a] she answered.
“Neither do I condemn you,” said Jesus. “Go, and from now on do not sin anymore.” (John 8:10-11 CSB)
We may often feel unworthy of God’s great mercy. We expect retribution for our sins because that is what the world wants us to believe. But our Heavenly Father is a God of love and compassion. He wants nothing more than to comfort us after we have done wrong. Yes, we may deal with the consenquenses of our actions, but this does not diminish God’s love one single bit.
The world will condem us, but God will comfort us.
He simply wants to see us turn from our sin and look ever toward him.
