16 All Scripture is inspired by God[a] and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB)

No one can dispute the value of training. In every aspect of life we are training to become better at that aspect. Whether the training is formal for our work or informal in that we are learning from doing or living.

As Merton said, “Every moment and every event of every man’s life on earth plants something in his soul.”

Scripture is continually valuable for our training and is inexhaustible in its content. Even biblical scholars who have spent their lives studying the scriptures find something new on a regular basis.

What a wonderful tool we have been given to learn about every aspect of how to live.
