Want and pride, two of the key drivers in just about everything we do in this life. We work because we want to live a good life. We gain possessions because we want more. We covet more because of our pride. We often argue too because we are too proud to admit we are wrong. Pride too, very often (always?) drives our ambition for success.
The human condition is one that is driven by want and pride. This is how the world works. There are whole professions that focus on targeting our pride and our want so that we consume more and more.
But what is of true lasting value? Our reputation and integrity, our relationships (both here on earth and above), and really those things that a financial value on which cannot be placed.
We must continually ask ourselves what drives us…
