Cogs

15 But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ. 16 From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part. (Ephesians 4:15-16 CSB)

Sometimes we can feel like just cogs in a machine. We do our part at work, with our families or at church and can begin to feel like nothing but a part of the machinery.

But nothing could be further from the truth. We each have a specific role (roles) to play in life. In each segment of our lives we have a purpose that without our specific cog, nothing would work as well as it does.

It is only when we cannot clearly define our role or clearly see how we fit in that we feel lost and tossed about. We must define ourselves in all aspects of our lives. And that definition should begin and end with Christ.
