7 … Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. (2 Corinthians 12:7 CSB)
To keep us from pride we must, at times, submit ourselves to some form of thorn that keeps us humble. God’s grace is sufficient to see us through this torment, and he allows it to remain to keep us mindful of his place in our lives.
This can feel like God not responding to our plea to remove the thorn. However, it may be in place to keep us from ourselves and make us a better version of ourselves.
Comfort can be our worst enemy.
