42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two mites worth very little. 43 Summoning his disciples, he said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had —all she had to live on.” (Mark 12:42-44 CSB)
When we give from our abundance that is good. But when we give sacrificially, that is great. It is when we give more than we can realistically afford that we truly unleash all that is possible in our lives. We open internal doors that focus our attention away from ourselves and to those truly in need.
This can be when we help others or when we give to the church. Some may say, about giving to the church, “you have no idea where that is going or how it will be used.” Sure I do, I will say, “It’s going to God and what it is used for or how is not up to me, but up to Him”.
When we release ourselves to God’s grace and let him take over, amazing things happen!
