Hometown

3 Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended by him.

4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his household.” (Mark 6:3-4 CSB)

I have often used this verse in business. The longer you live somewhere, no matter how learned you may be, the less people are inclined to listen to you. Yet, today when we tend to discount the experience of years we are condemned to repeat our history over and over again.

This is as true in the business world as it is in the real world. There is a value in experience that cannot be discounted.
