When we are all utilizing our gifts, they come together for the whole. Whether that be in a church setting or in business. I have long said, in business, if we both do the same thing one of us is redundant. Not that there does not need to be backup for critical roles, but the manifestation of our skills should not be identical. They should be complimentary and symbiotic.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: (1 Corinthians 12:7 NKJV)
There was a time when I really, truly believed that I had no real gift from God. There was not much of a time when I did not serve in some way, but I really could not put this scripture to test within my life. I did many things others did, but as I stated, I tended to be redundant. It was not until I started saying that this was the case and I really did not know my spiritual gift that God opened my eyes. And once He did, I realized how it could be a profit to all and not just my church family. Furthermore, I found out that where He gives one gift He often gives many.
That journey began many years ago and since that time I have served in numerous capacities. Writing is where I found that I shined, but I was also shown I had a knack for teaching and could be called on to preach. In truth, I feel like I finally began to fulfill what I was called to do way back when I was just a teenager and never followed through with.
Reflect on: God has a role for us all in this world, and that role is profitable to all.
