11 Even a child is known by his deeds,
Whether what he does is pure and right. (Proverbs 20:11 NKJV)
We may confess Christ to those who will hear, but do our actions reflect that same confession?
It is important that how we act and how we speak are in unison when it comes to our faith life. Each bear upon how others see us as Christians and their perception of what a faithful person looks like. When the two are not in unison, then we may be causing a stumbling block for others.
There is nothing worse than hearing someone talk about the hypocrisy they experience in our churches. True, this is not good and has a longstanding tradition of happening. However, people forget that those we sit alongside of in the pew have the same struggle with sin as everyone else. Yes, being saved provides a covering of our sins, but does not always create in us all we need to live a good Christian life. This takes work, maturity and a constant diligence to living a Christ like life.
Reflect on: How your actions portray Christ living in your life. Are you reflecting a lifestyle that brings others to faith or simply fulfills your own human desires?
Actions Speak Louder
