Sunday Reflection: Tomorrow

Some times the hardest thing we can do is to simply trust God with tomorrow. In truth we really cannot see what tomorrow might bring. We become anxious or depressed because of our lack of control over current circumstances or our inability to be assured about the future.

1 Do not boast about tomorrow,
For you do not know what a day may bring forth. (Proverbs 27:1 NKJV)

Our pride of life and arrogance makes us think that we may have tomorrow covered. We make our plans, save up, or spend like there is no tomorrow. We get crushed by some occurrence today and think that it will define the rest of our lives. We prepare, we plan and we worry. But the reality is we have control over only ourselves and only this moment. Tomorrow will bring what tomorrow brings.

The right thing to do is to pray that we are simply living in God’s will and that He might see to our plans and our outcomes. Then we simply trust in His divine guidance and plan for our lives. He does not wish harm or negative things upon us. They may happen, but it is not His desire. They may happen and He may allow them to change our minds, our habits or an errant path we are already on. But make no mistake, He desires the best for us and His love is always there.

Reflect on: You views on tomorrow. Are you trusting God or trying to direct the future in your own ways.
