1 My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
² So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
³ Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding, (Proverbs 2:1-3 NKJV)

There is much God has to teach us. Much through scripture. Much through discernment. And much through the Spirit within us.

But we must be inclined to listen.

I have written often on the clamor of the world and how it and the enemy seek to distract. I have also written on the need for silence and solitude in our lives. If we hope to hear God, we have to make space for Him to speak into our lives. But we live in a world that seeks to keep us constantly listening to the electronic voices in our ear and on our screens.

I know this was not the genesis story of Apple, but I heard recently something that makes a lot of sense. We now have the knowledge of mankind in our hand. An instrument of either great good or great evil. Each day we choose to either take a bite from that Apple or seek God. I think there is a lot of truth in this regardless of how you look at technology.

Being a long veteran of a technology career, I have seen so much come and go. So much use for good and usages for evil. It has fed us many promises, most of which never came to fruition. Or if they did, they were far more dystopian than we first imagined. We have to make good choices of our use of anything that the world gives us. All good things come from God, but much evil comes from the world.
