Grow in Grace and Knowledge

17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen (2 Peter 3:17-18 NKJV)

Our spiritual walk is never complete, it is a journey of constant growth in grace and knowledge. Our lives are never static. They are marked by either stagnation or growth. Sadly, stagnation seems to be the norm. Now, before you believe I am judging others lets look at the fruit we are producing. Even in my own life I can point to times of stagnation and times of growth. This is very common and it is something that we must fight to keep from becoming the norm.

This does not happen only in our spiritual lives. It often happens in our work life, in our relationships, we just stop working at them the way we should. We stop trying to keep learning and growing as human beings. We get tired and experience burn out, or our relationships grow cold. Every aspect of our lives requires constant attention. It is much like keeping fit. It is not something that we do once and we are fit for life. No, fitness requires constant attention and exercise.

Reflect on: How fit your spiritual body is. Are you working at it on a daily basis, growing in grace and knowledge?
