18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18 NKJV)

Do we consider the fact that the Lord is looking for us to call upon Him? Yes, He already knows all of our issues and concerns, but He is looking for us to take a step and call out for Him. Good parents do not hover over their children fixing everything before the child has any chance at an experience. Yes, we try to keep them from harmful things, but if we take care of their every difficulty they will never learn how to deal with them theirselves. We need to wait for them to reach out for help, then be willing to guild.

Our Father in heaven is the same, but He is looking for one other element; truth. He is looking for us to call upon him with all honesty, sincerity and a heart free from pretense. We are to come to Him as children, our world open to Him and completely bared in honesty. It is not like we can truly hold anything back that He does not know, so why come to Him any other way but in truth.
