16 All Scripture is inspired by God[a] and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB)

It is important that we be equipped in this life. Gaining knowledge and wisdom in our occupation but also in our vocation.

We focus on this diligently when it comes to our occupation but we tend to be less so around our vocation. While we need an occupation we have all also been called to a vocation, to spread the word. Scripture helps to complete and equip us for this vocation.

We would not think about trying to enter an occupation without proper training. Why would we expect to do so with our vocational calling?
