Sunday Reflection: Seek Strength

Alone we are woefully weak creatures, at least mentally and spiritually. Our vision is narrow and shortsighted, our minds will stray and we cannot keep focused, our spirit can be manipulated by the enemy and the world. To be strong we must seek strength that does not come from this world or anything in it.

4 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore! (Psalm 105:4 NKJV)

As our country celebrates our 250th year we need more than ever to seek the strength God offers. Our path has wavered and we are struggling to keep to “one nation under God”. There are so many factors that continually strive to drag us away from this once central focus. Thus our strength as a country wains as we continue to let things erode this central element of our founding. We have allowed agendas to drag us away from God and we are struggling to regain our focus.

We must seek the Lord and His strength individually, as a people and as a country. Without this we will collapse from within as we are beset from without.

Reflect on: How much each of us need God’s strength and how much we need Him as a country on our 250th.
