Bearing With One Another

13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. (Colossians 3:13 NKJV)

It can be quite difficult to simply bear with one another. This can be in a family situation, with friends or with coworkers. And I am sure that it can also be said of others toward us at times. The most fundamental aspect of what Christ taught us is that we are to love, but we have to admit that this does not always come easy.

We need to first think about just how hard or easy it is for others to bear with us. When we begin from this point recognizing that it may be us who is hard to bear with, only then can we hope to see others in a new light. Second, we need to walk a mile in their shoes. If someone is hard to bear with what are they going through? Do we even know? Have we taken the time to be compassionate first to what may be weighing heavily upon others before we just to the conclusion that people are unbearable.

Reflect on: The balance of bearable vs unbearable is often more rooted in us than it is in others.
