Steadfast to the End

12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but [a]exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, (Hebrews 3:12-14 NKJV)

I have written many times about how many things vie for our attention. The worst part of this is that once distracted we can become increasingly distant from God. This can lead to us not being nearly as attuned to when we sin and we begin to live as we did before we came to God. This can create a hardening of our hearts toward God and a living of a more carnal life.

Let us not stray so far today as we did yesterday. We need to remain steadfast to the end, holding on to the beginning of our confidence in Christ. It is helpful to have brothers or sisters who can exhort us in our faith, helping us to remain steadfast. There is nothing more important than brothers in our life in Christ. We need others to help us to stay the course.

Reflect on: What and who helps you to remain steadfast to the faith life.
