20 how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house (Acts:20:20 NKJV)
We are to be out there being ambassadors to the world, spreading the good news. I know that not everyone is comfortable with that, but we still need to do it. In fact, just our way of life should reflect the faith life we are living.
Our scripture tells us to keep nothing back that is helpful to others. When we see someone in need we should strive to fill that need. In the same way, we should be very open about speaking the Word. Not in a confrontational way, but with love and humility. Seeking to tell the world about the loving God we serve should come unbidden to our lips.
Not many of us are going to be like the early church, teaching house to house, but we could be. Our pastor speaks about the importance of small groups. He, in fact, says he would rather someone come to church to be in a small group rather than go to hear the sermon. It is not that he does not want people in the service, but that he knows it can be viewed later online. Small groups do not work as well in an online setting.
Reflect on: What you might be holding back and pray about how you can get out there more for God.
