When the Burdens Weigh Heavy

25 For I have [a]satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.” (Jeremiah 31:25 NKJV)

I am feeling very fatigued today. I do feel the weight of a weary soul. If I am honest, I do not feel this way often and when I do it tends to pass quickly. However, maybe much like you, when I feel this way I really have to find a reset so I can go on with my day. More often than not, that reset comes by way of scripture and prayer for me.

Today’s scripture reminds us that God can satiate and replenish every sorrowful soul. When we have burdens weighing us down we need not carry them alone. We can count of the solace God can bring through the Spirit ministering to our souls.

The world will bring weariness and burden, but we need not simply bear up under the burden. This may not come easily. Our minds tend to fixate upon our problems and become very distracted with our continual desire to noodle our way out of the situation. It can also be easy to simply look for an out. We may just want to replace the burdensome feeling with anything that will make us feel better, even if we know that avenue might be wrong.

Reflect on: How you allow the Spirit to help you work out your burdens. Do not turn to unguided or ungodly ways to relieve your burdensome feelings.
