20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. (Matthew 10:20 NKJV)
I quite often do not have the right words to say. Whether it is in private prayer or when God calls on me to speak to someone in His name. I have to trust the Spirit to speak in me and through me, trusting that He will provide what I might lack.
We need not fear when we are called on like this. Be it to pray privately from someone or to help lead another to Christ saving grace. We are promised that the Spirit, who lives within, will intervene and I believe I have been witness to this in my life many times. Have I always gotten to see the outcome, no, but as I have been lead I feel that others have been lead as well.
This is more than a matter of faith, it is a level of trust that we learn to have in God and the Spirit. We can come confidently before God even when we do not have the words.
Reflect on: Times when you have been unsure about prayer or speaking to another about your faith. Did you rely upon the Spirit and if not how could you change that today?
