A Strong Walk

10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1:10 NKJV)

I write often about our walk and if you spend any time in scripture you will see that much of it points to the outcome of a strong walk. The idea is simple, walk with Christ each day, practicing His presence in all things, then try to emulate His example to bear fruit in everything you do.

Sounds simple enough, but for anyone who has done this for any time, you know that it can be quite difficult. It is not that there is difficulty in practicing the presence of Christ, it is that our human nature (our sin nature) gets in the way. Furthermore, the enemy and the world will do everything in their power to pull us away.

I have learned over the years that a strong walk starts with my weakness. It starts by understanding and accepting that I can do nothing in God without relying fully upon God. Everything I try to do in my own strength fails. Only when I work in His strength can I accomplish pleasing Him and bearing good fruit.

Reflect on: Who you are relying upon for your walk. Is it something you strive to do on your own or do you give it all up to God in your weakness and allow Him to work through you?
