Come Aside

31 And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. (Mark 6:31 NKJV)

Does the hectic pace of the world ever make you just want to go to a deserted place and rest a while? Boy, I sure get that way. Sometimes it can just all be too much and I need a time to rest and reflect. A time to come aside with the Spirit and let my soul replenish.

I know some people who make a point of taking a concerted amount of time off work and for themselves. I have never been a person who did this. I take a day here and there, maybe a little time around the end of the year, but I am inconsistent. That time to reflect, rest and reset is really much more important than I give it credit. The body, mind and soul need it and if we neglect taking it everything just catches up to us and we find ourselves exhausted.

Reflect on: The time you take to rest and reflect. This is not just vacation time, but it is time you need to use to reconnect with the Spirit within.
