12 Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the basic principles of God’s revelation again. You need milk, not solid food. 13 Now everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature—for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil. (Hebrews 5:12-14 CSB)
Yesterday we spoke of putting childish things away, today we look at growth and maturity. When we spend time to develop our walk we move from needing spiritual milk to full maturity. Go go from being fed to feeding others.
This only comes with study, prayer and obedience. It is that last thing that we tend to give up very slowly. But with maturity comes the knowledge that we must obey and move completely away from our sin nature. We will not be perfect but we will be chasing perfection.
