Sunday Reflection: Enough

I am often concerned, especially in business settings, if my light for Christ burns brightly enough. Are the things I am doing truly glorifying Him or am I simply getting the job done? I know that my typical mindset is to get the job done, but I also think about God and speak to Him frequently. I speak to Him about personal things and about work things throughout the day. But how truly visible is my relationship with Him?

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)

It could be said that if one is worried about things like this then they are on the right track. However, is that the case or am I just worried about it because down deep I know that I am not doing enough. Granted, works are not how we gain our access to God or heaven. This only comes through Christ grace, mercy and an acceptance of His loving sacrifice me.

So how can we know if it is enough?

I think more than anything it is a continual practicing the presence of Christ. In doing this and a watching of our behavior we can be assured we are reflecting Him in our words and deeds. We do need to keep a check on said words and actions and make sure they are not trending toward worldly ways.

Reflect on: How you make Christ enough in your daily words and deeds.
