This Little Light of Mine

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV)

Have you ever walked into a pitch black room and struck a match or lit a candle? Immediately, the room will be revealed and your little light will light up the area around you. Now, if that is a small room you may well be able to see everything. However, if it is a warehouse, you may only see a short distance around you.

However, even a single match lit in a big warehouse will make you visible to anyone there. You become a focal point of light in a large dark space. This is how we are to the world around us as Christians. We are a focal point of light in a darkened world.

Reflect on: How the light of Christ shines from you in a darkened world.
