8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye. (Psalm 32:8 NKJV)

The Lord keeps His eye upon us and, through the Spirit, provides guidance to us. But when things are not going well it is easy to forget this. We end up in solve it mode and begin too quickly to try to put things right without consulting Him first.

When things happen and life grinds to a halt, we must discipline ourselves to seek God first. We need to sit in solitude, with the scriptures and listen for His still small voice. It can seem that life is quickly passing us by when this happens, especially if it is work related. We want to solve the problem quickly so we can move on with life. But it may be that God is telling us to stop and take a breath.
