13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action,[a] and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, (1 Peter 1:13-14 ESV)
Each day brings with it many things that will come at us quickly, much of this is the enemy keeping us distracted and the world demanding its price. Yes, our responsibilities are important but it is just as important we keep our minds prepared by soaking it in scripture and prayer.
I really do not know how my days would go if I did not start every one reading scripture, praying and writing these devotional. I have done it for so long now it has become an ingrained part of my morning. If something breaks that pattern I am very disjointed until I right it. Setting my mind first thing makes my day, simply, easier. Do I still mess up, you bet, but this practice keeps me sober-minded more throughout my day.
Reflect on: How you prepare your mind for each day and what you do with that preparation.
