A Fragile Balance

13 He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. (Matthew 15:13 ESV)

There is so much advancement mankind has made and we think that it is all good and valuable. But as our scripture clearly states that what God has not planted will be rooted up. So all of the things that do not further the kingdom, one day, will come to nothing. We put too much value in what we have done we have done by our own hand and in our own intelligence. Such is the folly of man.

The real problem is that we think we orchestrate all of these things. We think we are the makers of our own fate, but all we have can be gone in a moment. In fact I would go so far as to say that all we have hangs in a very fragile balance. We depend upon so many things that could cease to be in the blink of an eye, then what would we do? Well, many would fall as the structures that sustain us fail. Where then would we turn but to God?

Reflect on: The things in your world that, if they stopped tomorrow, would bring everything to a screeching halt. Then remember that God will sustain those who love Him.
