Moment by Moment, Day by Day

16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self[a] is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, (2 Corinthians 4:16-17 ESV)

The Christian life is not a once in a while thing. It is clearly to be lived out moment by moment and day by day. The work God is doing within us was begun by Christ and inspired by the Spirit. It is us continually trying to be more and more like Jesus. We may have moments of weakness and fail back into our sinful ways, but Jesus paid the price for those sins. Not that we might go on doing them, but that we might have a righteousness through Him.

As such, we must look at our lives and ask ourselves if we are truly changing. Is the work the Spirit was given to us to do actually having an impact on us every moment? If we cannot see a continual improvement toward a more Christ like walk we need to check ourselves and make some changes. This life change cannot be something we pick up and put down, but something we live out in every moment.

Reflect on: How Christ in you is changing everything about you.
