Once We Find It

40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus[a] was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ). (John 1:40-41 ESV)

When we find something of great value or great interest we do not typically keep it to ourselves. No, we go and tell others about it. Andrew immediately realized that Jesus was the Messiah and was quick to find others to point this out. Throughout his ministry, Andrew drew others to Jesus, we must do the same thing.

Jesus is the most valuable thing anyone can have in their lives. We, as believers, must not only tell others about Christ, but we must convey the exceeding value of His worth in our lives. But first, we must recognize the value. If having Christ is nothing more than an element of our “religion” then we are completely missing the point.

The value Christ brings is eternal. Nothing temporal (of this earth) will last. Only our relationship with Christ will stand in the end.

Reflect on: The exceeding value of Christ in your life. Then, go tell others!
