13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13 ESV)
What is it that you hope for today? Each season in our lives create different needs for hope and a desire for good outcomes. Some are simple hopes for well being, while others are desperate pleas for deliverance. Each season will bring a different need for hope into our lives.
I believe hope hinges upon faith. Without faith how can there be hope. Even people who have found themselves in seemingly hopeless situations have found that hope in faith. But even when our situation is not hopeless we have need for a strong faith to keep hope alive. Otherwise we simply get tossed this way and that by the fickle ways of this world and the powers over it.
There too is fruit produced by this perpetual hope, joy, peace and power. In truth we need faith and hope in every season of our lives to produce in us these fruits.
Reflect on: The role hope and faith play in your life and what fruit they are producing.
