12 So teach us to number our days
    that we may get a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12 ESV)

Most of us, if we are honest, do little to number our days. We think we always have at least one more as we wake for the day. But there is wisdom in numbering our days, if only to remember that we have a limited amount of time to fulfill God’s plan. We should be about this every day, not waiting for some far off time when we have time. If we will open ourselves to that plan, He will make the time for us to fulfill it.

Additionally, our days should be numbered so that we can spend them in scripture gaining the wisdom needed to live a good life. Just living is not enough, we need to do so with an eye to understanding more and more about God. In this understanding we start living in a different way and that time we thought we did not have comes far more easily.
