The Work of Your Hand

8 But now, O Lord, you are our Father;
    we are the clay, and you are our potter;
    we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8 ESV)

We are a workmanship that God is continually shaping just like a piece of malleable clay. Thus, we do not want to be so rigid that our hearts become hearts of stone. They should continue to be shaped by the welcomed Father’s hand throughout our lives.

This shaping is something that we are actively involved in, not something we sit by and watch happen. God wants our relationship to be one of father and son (or daughter). He desires that we seek to be shaped by the reading of His Word and through our prayer life. Neither should be passive acts, but should actively shape us into His image.

Reflect on: How God is shaping you and your involvement in the process.
