²¹ but test everything; hold fast what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21 ESV)

This old world is filled with snake oil salesmen. Just turn on any media outlet and you can see them at work. Unfortunately, this extends into every aspect of our lives. People who do not believe the truth and would have you do the same. They are here to lead you astray and to keep you from Gods truth. So you must test everything.

Even someone, like myself, who says they speak or write from scripture should be tested. Test your pastor, your priest or your leaders. Have a solid sounding board to test what you are being told. I know of no more solid source of truth than the scriptures. That is why I stick so steadfastly to reading and commenting expressly from them. I read and reread what I have written to test myself and ask the Spirit to give me the words so that I never lead astray.

To hold fast to what is good, is to test everything.
