133 Keep steady my steps according to your promise,
    and let no iniquity get dominion over me. (Psalm 119:133 ESV)

There are times in our lives where we need only pray this verse from Psalm 119. It is too easy to keep our eye upon the storms of life and not steady ourselves upon God’s promises. During these times we need to pray fervently that inequity not gain dominion over us. For, it is when we are weakened that the enemy can manipulate us the most.

Keeping this simple verse on our lips, lifted up to God, we can keep the enemy and fear at bay. It can help us to stay centered and steadfast in our faith. This steadiness is something that can feel so elusive. Our world is shaken for some reason and we flounder upon the waves of uncertainty. This is when turning to the Psalms is so important, they can help steady us.
